I think I have underestimated how hard keeping up blog will be, there is just no time between eating, drinking and sightseeing! But anyway ill do my best …
So my plans have basically gone out the window so far but I couldn’t be happier, I originally planned to spend a week in Bangkok then go straight out to Cambodia, but with one of my friends coincidentally being on hols in Thailand from the exact same date I landed I have ended up with her group. Now I didn’t want to be a total holiday gatecrasher but it has really helped my transition and it means I’ve got to the beach sooner than planned which in my book is definately not a bad thing!! So here’s what we’ve been up to:
I landed at 7am after a 22hr door to door journey, which actually wasn’t that bad, and I caught the train (which was like a bizzilion times cheaper that a cab!) to central BK then grabbed a cab to my -couldn’t quite bring myself to go cheap just yet- guesthouse. Then I spent the day wandering around the Khao San area which was cool. I met up with Sarah and her two guy mates later that night when they arrived but the jetlag was so bad it wasn’t a late one for me.
Sarah also knows a local guy that moved out a whole ago so after a day at the market we went out with him and his friends for a locals night which was a much better way of seeing behind the tourist nights out.
The next day was travelling to Koh Chang (down the east coast a little and the closest island from BK), the bus journey was 5hrs but the whole trip took 8 so we missed the beach yesterday but THIS is what Thailands all about! BK is great but it’s so like London in terms of the city vibe… The islands on the other hand – holiday vibeeeee!! 🙂
So after my first bucket and a fairly late one last night today will be sun, sea, sand!!!!
Happy Monday peeps!!!!!! Xx
