Greetings from party town…Ive been in Koh Phangan now for 6 days after a few days in Bangkok where I visited the famous Floating Market (not as foodie as I was hoping), MBK shopping centre (very cool!) and Chinatown (should have gone at night as there was no yummy food!). After a 24 hour journey which involved the very fun sleeper train, a bus & a 2.5hr ferry (where I made the time pass by playing cards and drinking beer with some 20 year olds!!) I arrived in Haad Rin on Saturday evening. Sarah’s crew is all here so Ive been hanging with them which actually was a much better way of doing full moon (thanks guys). Far too many 20 odd year olds here and I reckon I would have struggled to find a better group of people to party with!
Most of this week has involved sun, sea, sand and alcohol and my tan is coming along nicely 🙂 broke my phone & camera though in a little drunken ‘stroll’ along the beach but managed to fix my phone & save my photos for a meer 1100 baht (£22) so it could have been worse.
Last night was the infamous Full Moon Party which happens every month on Haad Rin beach near where I’m staying. What can I say it was epic…. Body paint, buckets, dancing and watching the sunrise from mushy mountain 😉 I strolled home at 9am and with the warm heat of the sun on my back it was the best post party walk home I’ve ever made 🙂 slept till 4ish and off for a final dinner tonight with the crew before most of them head for home tomorrow.
Going to postpone Cambodia for another week and head tomorrow for Koh Tao for some diving 🙂 it’ll also be my first time travelling fully alone which I’ve managed so far to avoid thanks to Sarah, so wish me luck!!!
