These last few months have been confusing.
There has been talk of moving to Thailand and Dubai and to be honest it was all getting a little stressful not having a plan! So I’ve taken matters into my own hands and booked a one-way ticket to Sri Lanka 🙂
A bit random I guess but I feel so much better now I’ve put a stake in the ground and have something to work with (is it just me that goes crazy when everything is up in the air??!!). So although not fully thrashed out to my usual planning standard here are my plans for 2015 so far:
One-Way Ticket to Sri Lanka
On 10th March I will be jetting off to one of the countries I’ve heard and seen so much of over the last 6 months. A place that just looks stunning with sunsets to die for.
I haven’t got into too much of the detail yet but I’m thinking 2-3 weeks travelling from Colombo, to Galle, Ella, Kandy and a few places in between (EXCITED!!!!!).
Onwards to Thailand
I just can’t get enough of this magical country, and with Thai New Year festival Songkran in mid-April I’ll be headed to Chiang Mai for a second year in a row with my friend Alison. 6 days in Chiang Mai with the Songkran water festivities, or should I say water fight (!!), slap bam in the middle will be soooo much fun!
After Songkran I’ll probably go to a few favourite hang-outs, like Pai, whilst visiting some places I missed like Koh Samui and Koh Lipe.
A country I love even more than Thailand, Cambodia’s south coast will likely be my next destination to cool off after the sweltering heat of northern Thailand in April. Sihanoukville’s mix of sun, sea, sand and partying puts it firmly on my list of places I recommend as a must visit when in this part of the world.
My most anticipated visit for 2015 will be to the Philippines!!!! I honestly cannot express how excited I am to visit this gorgeous little country. One that I have jealously fantasised about when reading other travellers blog posts 🙂
Visiting friends in Indo
I visited Indonesia at the end of my last trip to Southeast Asia, but I was so exhausted and home sick at this point I really didn’t appreciate the country as much as I should have, and I only ended up spending 2 weeks there rather than the month I had planned.
I will visit my friend in Bali and have a girly week on Gili T (the best place on earth!) before finishing my exploration of this disparate country. I would love to climb the Mount Rinjani as well but I guess I’ll have to see how my fitness levels are faring as it’s not easy (!!) but the views would be spectacular!
After this I’m a little unsure and I’ll see where the wind takes me 🙂
I’ll stay travelling & blogging until I need to come home to recharge…hopefully by which point I’ll be planning my permanent move abroad more seriously.
What are your travel plans for this year?
