Hello from the Cameron Highlands, inland Malaysia.
I’v been pleasantly surprised by Malaysia, I didn’t have any real feelings about the place prior to arriving here, and it was the country I missed out last year due to extending my stay in Thailand with G. I first made the easiest border crossing over from Koh Lipe to Langkawi and spent my days on Langkawi sight-seeing, lazing on the beach, playing in the sea and meeting some cool peeps. In was a real chilled island and had beautiful beaches and amazing sunsets (we all know how much I love sunsets!!)…anyway, after 4 nights in Langkawi it was time to move on to Penang, Malaysia’s backpacker hub!
Penang definitely did not disappoint, it’s true there aren’t masses of ‘things’ to go see in Penang, and 1 day of walking around Georgetown looking at street art was the extent of my tourist activities…the rest was spent eating the AMAZING food, drinking (3 nights in a row till the wee hours, I even impressed myself!!!), and hanging with some more cool peeps.
Travel is so much about the people you meet..the most amazing place can be damped if you spend it alone, but Penang was a hoot!!!!
Photo of the Week
This little girl at the Oriental Village in Langkawi had us entertained for ages while we waited for the Cable Car … Her giggle was so infectious
No words required…
Penang street art was pretty interesting, not quite Banksy though!
A great day on the beach in Langkawi…sunbathing, banana boats, nappy life jackets (don’t ask!!!) and new friends 🙂
