Well, what a week it’s been!
It was Songkran, the Thai New Year water festival, my Boyfriend flew in for a week where we spent half the time in Chiang Mai, and then flew down to Bangkok after Songkran. I also met up with some old friends and overdid the partying a tad :/
BUT….it was such an awesome week and another Songkran I’ll never forget!
G left last night, and it was yet another emotional goodbye in Bangkok. We did the same thing, from the same hotel last year when I flew down to Bali and he stayed in Bangkok to meet his Dad. Goodbyes SUCK!!!!!
Anyway, today was a day of relaxation and a bit of work before my flight to the South of Thailand tomorrow. Im going to stay at a beach bungalow 30km south of Krabi (South West Thailand) which was recommended by someone, although I can’t for the life of me remember who! For some relaxation time, before moving on to one of my all time bucket list locations….KOH LIPE!!!!!
Oh my days it’s going to be spectacular!!!! I’m guessing the wifi might be a bit shocking though so apologies in advance if you don’t hear much from me.
After that I’ll island hop to Langkawi which is actually part of Malaysia and go on from there through Malaysia mainland, Indonesia & Philippines before hopefully coinciding with G back in Thailand at the end of June when we will stop to live!!
Phew, lots of information…sorry! Anyway, onwards to:
Photo of the Week:
Despite having my GoPro on for most of the festival I didn’t actually manage to get many good photos (hoping my video will be better). Anyway this was one of the ones I liked, despite that bucket being filled with ice cold water 🙁
I Actually thought these guys were the Thai army until i spotted their water guns!
Why westerners (or Thai’s for that matter) think riding a motorbike during Songkran is a good idea I’ll never know!!!
Me and mine. I love our faces in this photo 🙂
Let me know your fav in the comments below!
Story of the Week
So this week’s story is one of G’s as he has so damn many! So I walk into Deejai Gardens last week and start chatting to the manager Rob who Greg knows well from last year when he spent a few months hanging around Chiang Mai. The second thing Rob says to me once he realises G is my Boyfriend is “oh tell G he owes me 10,000 Baht” – £200), and so, of course, I ask what for…”he decided to ‘free’ one of my Koi Carp into the salt water swimming pool, and killed it!”…ah
Now G would totally have owned up to this act of madness had he really have believed it was him, but he was 100% sure it wasn’t. He does admit the idea was probably his, but the act itself…na. Anyway, G offered up 3000 Baht instead for planting the seed and they called it quits! The money went to a local charity anyway, so alls well that ends well!
